The season of yard sales is upon us…

Picture of a Yard Sale

The weather has finally started to warm and that means that everything people thought was so cool last year and haven’t used since will start showing up in driveways on Saturdays.  It is a blessed time where people empty their garages and I fill mine.   And if for any reason I don’t use them, my friends on Ebay seem to think that I have a good eye.

So bring your joys of spring cleaning season.  I am fine waking up at at the crack of dawn and heading out on my first day of the weekend, this is my trade for the joys that I find.   If you are like me, I will see you there.

Buy an old scooter!!! Scooters are great and cheap!!

Used Scooters

If you are looking for a good way to cut costs and have a little fun with it.   Choose a scooter, they are amazing for little trips or even to commutes to work if you are a little more adventurous.  Their little engines get between 50 to 80 mpg mattering on how big of an engine you want, they are really a great buy.

The thing about scooter is that people buy them new and use them once or twice and then just get lazy and want to use their car.  So there is a surplus of used scooters out there, just check craigslist or any scooter dealer.   Even if the scooter does need a little work to it, they are quite simple machines and thus quite cheap.

If you have forgot, Spring is a wonderful time at the 2nd hand stores

Spring Cleaning

I don’t know if people have put as much time and effort in their 2nd hand shopping as I have, so I am going to share a little bit of research that I have come across over the years.  The spring is the best time of year to get great furniture at your second hand stores.

People are sick of what they have currently and as soon as it gets warm enough to get it out they do.  I guess people feel that the beginning of the new year is a good time to restart their homes, and I don’t mind at all.   So take this advice if you want, if not there will be more for me.

Hey, If the store wants to get rid of things… they can give it to me!

In the words of the old saying, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure”, well, sometimes big stores need to clean out their old inventory and they don’t care about the price.  And this is when I come into the picture to buy things for a faction of the orignal cost.

So keep your ears out when stores are getting ready to do a little spring cleaning and also pay attention to the web.  There are a few sites out there that clear their inventory pretty regularly as well.   The two biggest ones I can thinking of are Citydeals and Overstock.  They are pretty sweet places for deals regularly but when they go into clearance mode… look out

Unwanted Christmas Gifts… Ebay, here I come

Sometimes I am really amazed at the gifts some people buy.  For some reason, my friends and family think that I enjoy any random present that they can think of.  Though they get lucky every once and a while, 9 times out of 10, I have no use for the gift.   And like everyone else in the civilized world, if you are not going to use it, you need to get rid of it on Ebay and you make some money.

Since the world runs on the internet, the week after Christmas, Ebay is stuffed with Christmas gifts that just didn’t find the proper home.  One of the greatest things about this, is that because people don’t know how much things are actually worth.  It’s like sitting on a goldmine!

Though it isn’t secondhand… this is just brilliant

Well, it’s that time of year again, time for Thanksgiving and Black Friday, the two busiest days of my life. One day I spent cooking and eating the greatest food on Earth, then I have a midday nap and I get ready to stand out in the cold so that I can get amazing shopping deals.   Though, I have figure out a way to even get more off on my Black Friday sales.  My master plan this year is to get gift certificates that at a discount on sites like citydeals or others and then use them for payment on my items.  This is what I call a double bonus, a genius move on my part!  Even though, my plan was to point out ways to get used items… you can’t pass up a good way to get new items either.

Shopping For Style

I love clothes that have STYLE! Sometimes when I go to the department stores ALL the clothes look the same. The individual style is missing.  I always know I can find an outfit at the thrift store! There is always so much variety.

Saturday Morning, a magical time

There is something magical in the air on Saturday mornings.  That feeling is the sweet taste of Yard Sales.   I leap out of bed at 7 in the morning and I head out to pick up some of the best priced items that you can get anywhere.

Yard Sales are the ultimate win/win situation for all parties involved.   For the seller, this equipment has lost it use and they would like to make a little money off of things they would have just thrown away.  For the Buyer, because of the sell just wants to get rid of these items, you can get amazing deals.

Trust me if you are looking for a fun Saturday morning activity that has the possibility of you feeling like you have gotten the greatest deal ever, then hit up the yard sales… I will see you there.

Finding The Best Deal!

We are always looking for bargains, best deals and sales when shopping. I love it when there is a sale on something that I need to buy. BUT it is extra fun when I find a sale on something I WANT to buy. Don’t waste any money!
